Virtual Law and Virtual Long-Distance Legal Services

From Books to Bits- Changing Delivery of Legal Services

Virtual Law Practice- “The Modern Way to Save Money”

“Virtual Law Practice” is the term used for providing legal services to clients through the use of online and modern communication technologies such as Skype video conferencing; screen-sharing; “cloud” computing using online document storage and editing shared by client and lawyer.

Virtual Long-Distance Legal Services (VLDLS)

As a rural law firm we have developed and used the expanding array of technological tools for years to assist our clients who often live more than 100 miles from our office in Colville.  For example, Stevens County has 17 people/sq. mile, in contrast to 101 people/sq. mile in the state.  Serving 3 rural counties also means our billing rates are much lower, about 40%, than similarly experienced attorneys in Spokane, Seattle, Tacoma or other big cities in Washington.  Thus, we are well situated to provide the benefits of “virtual law practice” to clients in big cities at “less than market rates” without sacrificing quality and judgment.  We call this “Virtual Long-Distance Lawyering”, the application of virtual law practice to provide urban clients with legal services by rural lawyers at “less than market rates”.

For VLDLS we use local urban attorneys for emergency court appearances and temporary hearings while we draft pleadings and coordinate litigation strategy.  Using this team approach allows us to give clients the “best of both worlds”- quality legal service at less than market rates. Give us a call at 509-685-1230 to explore this option in further detail.
